Hi guys I have an offer from Accenture and no issues in terms of CTC, job profile or other things. The only thing I am skeptical about is the job security. Do they really get rid of employees in a regular basis or the covid situation was a one time measure? This would probably be the last switch in my career and security would be of utmost importance to me. Please advise

I don’t think they are completely a myth. I think the way they’ve been applied is problematic. In my experience, they apply when teaching different subjects. Different brains learn different materials in different ways. I may learn one concept one way easily, but need a different style to learn a different topic.
I like Veritasium as well but I don't think he did a great job in this video of distinguishing what was a myth and what was useful. I think one myth is that a particular person will thrive through only one learning style. I think another myth is the idea that a person's preferred learning style is the most important consideration when planning a lesson for them.
I think that the concepts of learning styles can be useful though. One utility would be to think about which learning style would be most useful for a particular piece of content. Veritasium even seems to acknowledge this. For example he created Snatoms because he wanted students to be able to feel how atoms come together. A teacher could easily explain this to students or have them read about it but he thought it was important for that to be a more kinesthetic experience.

During my teacher program they said learning styles were a myth. That was….a bunch 😁 of years ago. I cringe a little bit inside when I hear teachers refer to the theory.

That makes perfect sense.
As a teacher, I try to have students explore material using as many of their senses as possible. It brings learning to life. I’d love to teach at a school that focused on experiential learning. Lots of trips and experiences would be 🤩.
I have always approached the notion of learning styles as being irrelevant regardless of whether the theory has any merit. We don’t have to look far to understand why. For instance in sports, athletes are continuously told to work on their weaknesses not their strengths so that they can become a more complete player. They are not told that the sport should be modified to be tailored to their strengths. In fact anyone who suggests this would be laughed out of the room. But that is because American culture and society values athletic rigor and routinely makes a mockery of academic rigor and this is a prime example of that.
Then there is another issue, learning styles have almost no meaning or relevance past a certain point of learning. How exactly does one produce a kinesthetic proof of the irrationality of the square root of two? You need to learn mathematical logic which like most disciplines falls outside the domain of any or all of these supposed “learning styles”.
