I haven’t been told to be more assertive but I have been told to brag about my accomplishments more. Which is very foreign to me bc the proof is in the results in my opinion.
Right! It sucks that those people who go on and on get all the visibility and promotions.
I’ve definitely been told I need to speak up more, though not necessarily assertive.
Funny enough, one client told me to keep being assertive (I was a consultant at the time) because that’s why they hire us.
I have. Although it’s UK focused, I like how this article lays our struggles to be more “stereotypical“ in the workplace.

Great read! This line resonated with me most - "being in the workplace brought out more introverted tendencies in them" - because I'm an introvert at work and an extrovert elsewhere.
