Bring it up to the partner & senior manager. If they’re complacent about it and don’t have your back, just do the bare minimum until both the client team & the seniors on the consulting side sort their sh*t out
I don't know your role on this project, but here is my general advice: 1. Assumptions / timelines - Get them all on 1 meeting to align on this. As hard as it may sound it's the only way to avoid a disaster later down the line (believe I was there). Also don't trust one of the clients to collect assumptions from the rest, I had a disaster project due to this once. 2. Project scope - this should be handled by your PM, but you must actively inform them if client is trying to go beyond scope
This sounds about right. Fundamentally not everything is always going to be escalated or should be escalated to me. I have an expectation that the teams can coordinate and align their client counterparts, particularly workstream leads. That said, if the client agrees and then refuses to adhere to these changes, or if they put undue pressure on our people to do something that seems distantly out of scope, please let me know.
Raise it with the Partner, that’s their job. We put too much focus on our consultant teams to solve poor upfront comms. If the partner doesn’t address it, raise the issue above them at an office or divisional level.
^this!
I've been on projects that a client keep on adding to the scope and it didn't seem that senior leadership push back, we kept on accommodating these client needs
