Might be just me, but I don’t think I know a single designer with a preference for windows.
I was joking, but thanks for the explanation.
For me the second alinea is one of the key reasons for my Mac preference. They just run so much smoother, all the time.
Plus with windows you have to worry mora about viruses, etc. I am a designer who has been forced to use Windows for the past 15 years and still am annoyed are all its little quirks and idiosyncrasies. Like you can’t even set files/folders to different colors. (I’m very visual so it’s quicker for me to identify things by color/icon.)
Windows! My surface book has the premium apple experience with more control.
If you want to get into AR,VR,3D world — go with Windows ( but I’d wait till what Apple has to offer next event) if not just macbook pro would do just fine. ( if you want to get in to 3D but want mac — max out on RAM and graphic)
Unless a separate AR/VR device is the GPU
I use windows at work and a mac for personal projects and I’m just fine using both. It feels like my workflow is a lot quicker on Mac and I like their visuals and interface better, but both function just fine cruising between illustrator, photoshop, after effects, and anything else I’m doing online at any given time
I love my MacBook Pro. Due to the pandemic, I have been forced to use a Windows machine that was not designed to run the Adobe Suite and I much prefer my Mac.
That said, both are capable of meeting your needs. I'd go with whichever operating system you're more comfortable with.
Apple everything.
