As a first time PM at a company with no PM structure, I’m finding it difficult to learn good practices and bring myself to “the next level”. Has anyone here had a similar self taught start that made the break through to become a solid senior PM? Anything will help, books, etc.

I found this list of books helpful before. https://productschool.com/blog/product-management-2/top-most-read-books-by-product-managers/

I was in the same boat as you in a previous role I found finding peers who are of the same mindset in self improving was what helped me a lot with self learning - I was lucky enough to have one peer who was super motivated as well to learn more about product management and we basically dedicated time weekly to talk about readings and best practices from other companies and bounce ideas off each other. We’d also do weekly product cases to help think objectively and breakdown product problems. Taking courses is also helpful - I’ve learned the most about PM from Reforge

OP I’m experiencing that now and it’s becoming a struggle for me

Oh that's super tough. Honestly a coursera or GA course might help if you haven't looked into those before. Or really any online crash course or PM workshop will teach you good principles. Best of luck!

Find senior PMs and ask targeted questions about things you’re working on today and where you want to take those things to tomorrow. The job really comes down to experience - how fast you can acquire useful knowledge, how well you can persuade and work together with people, how well you can manage uncertainty, how well you can execute. You won’t get that much from books on any of those things above unfortunately

I’ve been asked to be a PM and Account Director in a hybrid role and now have people telling me that I’m not driving the team’s overall vision in line with client goals. I get so stuck in the day to day and have never in 6 months been given one positive piece of feedback. I am truly in shock and starting to feel depressed. What books, blogs or people do you recommend that I go to for help with managing teams? The situation is unfair but I need help to address how I can better manage.
