I agree people tend to equate China to the CCP and that absolutely needs to be corrected. I have so much respect and admiration for Chinese people, culture, and history (I am ethnically Chinese as well) but I think associating the CCP with “negative things in general” is not a far stretch at all - Uyghurs are being forced into basically concentration camps, being literally chained to their beds, and forced into manual labour. This is not simply “treating them unfairly” it’s straight up genocide or at the very least, a precursor to it.
Things aren’t black and white but in some
cases people have to draw the line.
KPMG 1, I’ve visited both countries, have super close friends from both countries and think they both have a lot to offer (despite the Cultural Revolution attempting to eradicate old Chinese culture and history) 😊
Manchuria has been hanized speaking from personal experience as a Han person from there. The culture is a hybrid of Manchu and Han culture tho as well as influence from Korean, Japanese and Russian (which geographically makes sense). I hope that's been happening in Xinjiang, but religion might be a big factor that did not exist in Manchuria. Even if you support the the Chinese nation, people there need to be educated that the Han have been taking over Frontier region. Guang dong and Sichuan used t be ruled by foreign cultures but now they are as Han as ever. Basically Han people need to be aware that the Han identity is based on different tribes in what is now China coalescing around the same culture by abondoning their own.
What’s your definition of genocide? Because all the reporting and details I’ve heard are pretty bad.
I’m not saying I don’t believe it’s not true. I’m just tying to say they’re not forcing every person to do abortion. I have friends who have multiple siblings themselves. This should not happen at all. But same to you, please known that there are other sides of the story.

How does the one child policy have anything to do with people being taken from home and carted off to “re-education” camps in cattle cars? What a CCP 🤡
I don't know why people can't have a reasonable discussion between adults, where each party hears each party out and not start to attack one another personally, like "you're a CCP clown".
OP - your post is akin to someone saying blacks face no discrimination in America! How can you expect anyone to believe you saying there is no Uyghurs genocide? What do you consider a genocide? If rounding people up and putting them in concentration camps is your definition of “not treated fairly”, then I seriously believe you are on someone’s propaganda payroll! Come on.....

Based on satellite, doesn't seem like those camps are near places where normal people like you and the uyghurs u saw, would have visited
Agreed and I think there’s just a lot of attention towards China for being the next eminent global power. Similar to when athletes or a normal person goes pro and all the spotlight is on them for every little detail into their lives. The execution of these ethnic “cleansing” can be much more humane but at the end of the day, the Xinjiang region is a huge strategic importance and China is simply not taking any chances. Every great power has done the same in the past and this is no different
The historical relationship between the regional is important to consider too. Manchuria was integrated during their rule over the entirety of China in the Qing dynasty.

I agree with you on a couple points:
1) People in the west tend to have a sweeping, overwhelmingly negative view of China and cannot/will not see anything in a positive light, esp when it comes to CCP. CCP has done absolutely fucked up things yes, but you have to admit they have absolutely done right things for the country too (lifting billions of people out of poverty, for example). It is not black and white.
2) People also equate the country of China, Chinese people, and Chinese culture to CCP. Everytime you say anything about China on this app, you bet you’ll get a ‘Free Hong Kong’ comment.
On Uyghurs, it’s hard to get a fair and objective view of how they are treated in general - obviously you can’t trust state propaganda media, but Western media also doesn’t portray a completely accurate picture. What’s happening in these camps is fucked up and wrong, but it is also incorrect and exaggerating to say that CCP is committing genocide to the entire Uyghur ethnicity.

If it’s that easy to get CCP to do or not do something then we would not be having this conversation
You sound like you've been brainwashed by the Chinese government.
You believing that there is no genocide happening, might be a reason why people tend to lump Chinese people with CCP.
Absolutely shocking that people here are okay with what China is doing - and doing twisted mind games to justify it.
Heads up - if you’re saying other countries have done the same thing so it’s okay, you’re on the wrong side of the argument. Every time.
Forced sterilization of female ugyhurs?
Can you share some source about it? I’m interested to know more about what happened too.
Kind of a low bar if you draw the line at genocide...
We're hitting wumao levels that shouldn't even be possible
I just hope both sides can try to learn more about each other before being so hostile. And I hope both countries can at least try to get long, even if we can’t be allies.

“There is no war in Ba Sing Se”
No genocide 🤡
I agree that it isn't a genocide. It's more aptly described as cultural cleansing and alignment to CCP's agenda and goals (i.e. unified China run by CCP/Xi out of Beijing, with religious beliefs that encourage obedience).
It's fair to associate CCP with China, since it's the only party that's allowed to exist, but CCP's positions =/= all Chinese people's views. Many people sadly miss out on the latter.
少看點紅媒
Agreed. We are just seeing the beginning of the Cold War between China and the US-led west.
