Thoughts on quitting during parental leave?
Does anyone work primarily out of a coworking space like wework or regus? New job is 100% wfh when not traveling (which is about once a month) and wondering if this would be a good option, since I have a kid on the way and will be harder to WFH.
Can anyone provide insight to working at Holland and Hart? Also, when do parental leave benefits kick in? Is there a waiting period? Do they negotiate lateral bonuses for losing out on present firm end of year bonus? TIA.
My ex wife with whom I share custody of my 14 year old daughter has a live-in boyfriend who recently lost his mother and has developed a drinking problem. For the second week in a row I’ve had to pick up my daughter from their apartment because they were fighting and screaming at each other. Last time (1:30 AM Friday morning) he had physically assaulted my ex wife and then threatened to kill himself. I thought surely my ex wife would have kicked him out at least and better yet gotten a contd.
Just found out I’m pregnant but I have been having off an on back pain all over. It feels a little sore in certain areas. Not sure if it’s because I’m only sleeping on my sides or if this is common. Anyone else experience this before?
What’s the parental leave policy at your firm? Maternity vs paternity? Is two weeks paternity leave pretty standard?
Wife and kid are going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Instead of wasting time, I’d like to do something productive. What would you do if you have say 3+ hours a day. Maybe self help, wealth creation type books, work out daily, take care of some things around the house.
Pregnant with my second and my oldest will be 23 months when baby 2 arrives. What do I need to get with a second (second monitor, double stroller, what else?) TIA!
Anyone left their jobs after having a baby to stay at home? I never even considered but just left on maternity leave and don’t think I can see myself going back to biglaw or honestly any other corporate job. If money isn’t an issue and I don’t like what I do, is it worth fighting to keep going in this profession? Guess I need some words of encouragement…
Let’s start a conversation around parental leave - how is it at your firm? Does your firm do enough to support new parents? What changes can we make in our industry to better support working parents? Share your stories and thoughts!
Hi all, I got offer from Deloitte and UST global. I want to join Deloitte actually.I have a baby if 7 months old, and seeing the wlb reviews about Deloitte I am kind of scared to go for it. We have an AMAZING nanny - we adore her and she is so great with our child. We are just using her for 6 months while we wait for our daughter to get into a nursery program. We didn’t talk about this up front - but, typically, what do you do in these situations for vacation/holidays? If she goes on vacation, do we still pay her for those days? If we go on vacation, do we still pay her for those days (supposing we give plenty of heads up)?
Hi This is a lengthy post, about a family matter. I am seeking some advice from the community. I am a married mother of a boy who is in Pre-K. I have been married for 8 years now. Contd..
Need advice from more experienced fishes. How much should I increase my FSA contribution if I plan to (try to) get pregnant next year?
As a male mid-level/senior associate, can you take the full parental leave (10-14 weeks) and come out without impact on partnership prospects? What are questions I should be asking to get at this issue before accepting a lateral offer? Quiz recent junior partners with kids? Seems a bit aggressive but may be necessary.
New father here.. can anyone share how far they were able to take their newborns / toddlers on road trips ? My kid can barely tolerate the car seat ( Graco) beyond 1 hour
Shoe recommendations for work when pregnant?

Is hiring a cleaning service a waste of money if you live in an apartment? I live alone in a 2 bedroom, and I absolutely despise cleaning.
Hi 🐠. I need your help please. What’s the best strategy you’ve used (that works) to book cheap flights? I hear a lot of things like: use incognito when searching for flights, best day to book a flight is on tuesdays, etc. I feel none of this is true. Toughts?
How did you guys break into your industries? What're the biggest qualitative differences between MBB Consultants and Big Four Consultants?

Just finished a final round interview but don't feel good about the case even though the behavioral round was great. Feeling so demotivated after two months of recruiting for this role 😢
She didn't expect a bath after a beach day 😉
2 month entry level hire on the bench, is it too early to ask manager to work from home on Fridays? I have no real need to be in the office
How can I become more “okay” with being an average performer? I’m two years out of school and have been considered a high performer so far, but it’s taken a toll on my mental health and I feel anxious most days. I’ve realized that the cost of being a high performer outweighs the benefits, and am trying to loosen up and be more comfortable with coasting on occasion... I’m what people may consider an insecure overachiever. Has anybody here ever had the same feeling?
Hi, can any one let me know if there is any job opening for .net 12years experience in IBM or TCS
Trying to prepare for the PwC FDD interview. I was told there will be a case study. Can anyone share some tips or experience on the case study? Do we have to create graph or do complex calculation based on the financial material? Having a hard time understanding what is debt like item and how it gonna affect the ebitda or Net WC? Is there any relationship between QoE, ebitda and Net WC? Are the questions very difficult for experience hire? Thank you!
Not in IB or ER, but I have to ask (per CFA study), how common is it to run in to troublesome pension accounting issues? It seems like most companies have/are going the way of DC plans and away frm DB

Hi is recruitment happening in BOA?
Which management style do you prefer? 1) My previous Deloitte SM calls me after all client meetings, pings me almost daily in the morning, whatapp me throughout the day, but he constantly provides me feedback and guidance 2) Now in Industry, manager barely replies to my email, only spent 30 mins daily during daily connect. I kinda prefer #1, am I used to micro-managing?
Does your company's health plan cover infertility treatment? If so, what is the lifetime cap if any? My company just implemented a cap—admittedly we were lucky before—but this new cap of $30k only covers ~$6k in medical expenses (another ~$23k in prescriptions) which wouldn't even get us through one IVF cycle (extract/implant once).
