As a IT analyst in TCS, will be completing 8yrs in march.. My manager is not initiating my AST even though i am eligible.. Is there any way i can push for it? What is the eligible criteria? When is the AST promotion cycle? Also can i negotiate for salary hike in this promotion? My current CTC is too low approx 5.8LPA. If yes, what should be the% hike i should be looking at.

This is because you don't wanna leave TCS and your manager knows this. That's why he's not doing. If you want promotion or hike you have to get an offer and ask tcs for retention else switch You should have started about promotions by 7 years so that by 8th year you can pressurize him a little

your ctc is too less. They are heavily underpaying you. Get an offer and move on. You should get ctc of at least 25 to 30 with your yoe. If you really want to stay there then get and offer and negotiate. But tcs won't pay more than 12 I feel to retain you. Still that is also very less for your exp.

Buddy why you are thinking this? Study hard and get and offer outside. I guess you started your carrer in tcs.not sure what are your bands but doesnt look like tcs will give you promotion before 9+ years so better to switch. In promotioj u will get 15% max but in switch easily you will get 100%

Please look outside. U should get *3x. Try to use existing experience or learn new skills.

This is the golden period of job switches in the entire decade I would say. People are getting crazzy salaries. Don't beg for promotion for just 1-2 laks when outside you could easily get a hike of 10 lakhs on such low ctc. I was in same boat, so I know. Put down your papers today and within 3 months you can get at least 3-4 offers and can easily reach upto 17-18.

Buddy, don't hesitate much. Prepare hard for 2 weeks, put down papers and you will get offers by the end of notice period. Current CTC of yours is way too low and don't expect TCS to give anything much.
