As a jr associate, how do you handle a situation where a client is bugging you for sign-off on a major document but the deal partner is being totally unresponsive? I gave my recs to the partner a few days ago, and have followed up, but she’s OOO & I can’t reach her. I’m not comfortable signing off without partner’s approval but the client is getting impatient. Any recs?

Ask another partner for sign off or direction, preferably someone familiar with the client

This has happened to me before. Sorry you’re in that position. If you’re junior and not certain on your partners position on the document, then I would take the position to keep your partner happy first, before the client. The partner’s job will be to smooth things over with the client. I would try to keep the client at bay (say that we are still reviewing etc) until the partner returns. Then, you can approach partner and ask how they would like you to handle that type of situation going forward. I don’t know if this is a good rule of thumb for every situation, but something to consider for this one. I would also reach out to the partner’s secretary for a cell number if you don’t have it, in case you can send a quick text just letting the partner know.

like

What were her instructions prior to leaving? Is there a senior associate you can ask?

Unless it’s a court deadline and must get filed or prejudice to client, I would heavily encourage you to not send anything until the partner has signed off. This is the story of my life.

Hi guys!
I've learnt the MERN stack on my own! But I don't have any experience of SDLC, Agile, Jira, DevOps or even daily scrums. Because I'm in a support project which requires no technical skills! How can I gain the above skills? Because I want to switch in a few months as a MERN dev. And also, when I try to switch how should I answer the question of YOE, because for MERN I've 0 professional experience. But I have 1 year of experience working at Accenture.

Program/Project Managers here, what are your compensations like?

I'm at 180k TC, 9YoE overall and 1 year as PM.

need advice.

I have been working in an interim role as a portfolio manager. I was promised that the role would be mine. However, after doing the job for 2 months, I have been advised that we might not get the funding for the role and I might not get the raise and the title but my responsibilities will be the same.

Its a political minefield.

How should I back out elegantly that I need to be compensated fairly and competitively from this mess without burning any bridges

Every single project I'm part of is filled with 30-something engaged or married guys who are straight. I give up

I’ve now reached the point in my career where I have the experience, a good client base, and consistent referral sources that I’m ready to leave the small firm I’m with and start my own practice. My preference would be to find a partner and form a partnership because I’d like to have someone to bounce ideas off of and for some social interaction, but if I can’t find the right partner, then I’ll do it alone. Any advice on branching off to start my own firm - whether it be solo or with a partner?

Big 4 folks how much of the work at your strategy practices are PMO type of work? I feel like most of the projects in my firm are just being a PMO for hire for a client project. No real strategic work a such. I'm still entry level though so just want to see if this is how the industry will be going ahead.

Currently in TCS basic is low around 20-25% of your salary.

As per the proposed new wage rules, basic should be 50% of package. So this will eventually increase Gratuity of long timer TCS.

In a case, if my Gratuity stands at 1 Lakh say, with new wage rules it will be 2.5 Lakhs.. Is my understanding correct? Will the company pay from their pocket for this?
