What would be my in-hand salary
What will be the in-hand salary??? KGS
I asked TCS for a salary renegotiation, they agreed and they sent the new salary breakup, But they are not sending the revised offer letter, Whenever I ask them they are saying it's in the clearance process you'll receive shortly.
But my date of joining is on Monday, HR is telling me to join & they'll send the updated offer letter within 7 days of my joining, can we trust these words, Has anyone faced a similar situation?Tata Consultancy

Compensation. It does not depend on anything - I work to get paid (otherwise it wouldn’t be work) I’m not here to take a job I like that underpays me. I’ll take the big check and continue on my way, as a senior I may take partnership into consideration if one year of lower pay means I make partner somewhere and get MORE pay. Maybe.
As a senior level associate I may be too old for this post but I think just focusing on comp is a bit short sighted.
Whether or not you want to make partner, you’re going to be working for the next 30-40ish years somewhere, so you want to make sure you’re not doing something you dislike just to make a little extra cash now. In a few years you may find the “dislike” grows to “hate” and that you would rather quit the practice entirely or start over with some other practice area than continue on for even another day in your current role. In that scenario ironically the better financial decision is the one that pays less but that you can foresee wanting to do longer.
I’m speaking from experience here because as a mid level I moved to another firm solely to chase comp and now regret it. I loved what I was doing in the last place and could see myself doing it forever, even if it paid less. I probably would have made partner at my last firm though so the “low” pay would have only been for a little while in the grand scheme of things anyway. It’s too late to go back and now im legit considering quitting law altogether, or perhaps going in house as a last ditch effort to salvage my interest in this profession.
A4: Fellow senior as well. And this is exactly why it is so hard to recruit good senior associates.

Lol at people thinking firms that pay less will somehow have better quality of work. That may only be the case in some narrow situations.
Searching for work life balance while your making 100k less to work more hours lol.

Quality of life over max comp. For what I’m willing to do at this point in my life, I’ll never make enough to retire very young (the overwhelming majority of lawyers are killing themselves chasing an economic pipe dream). So I’d rather enjoy my life than chase max dollars working like a slave. I wish someone had told me this when I was a mid level.
