When is Google resuming relocation?
Yes, you accrue hours every month totaling 20/year in the US.
So you’ll probably accrue ~15 this year.
It’s a standard/consistent US policy. No negotiation.
A lot of folks coming from consulting seem to worry about this, but with the better wlb at Google, lots of Friday’s are no meeting Fridays, more remote work enabled, it’s not really a huge problem. And once we really get traveling for work again, I often tack on a trip, or take an extra day off if I travel on a weekend, etc.
I don’t think it kicks in until mid 2022, meaning it will be pro-rates for like 17.5 days for this year assuming you worked 1/1-12/31
We start accruing at a higher rate April 1, so yeah it’s gonna not be the full 20 earned this year for folks who are already here.
Do people with 5+ years at Google also get 20 now? I'm coming up on my 5th so curious. The comms did not provide clarity.
Why would they downgrade from 25 to 20 for 5 years?
With the new policy, anyone under 5 accrues towards 20. There’s been no comms saying 5+ will no longer get those additional 5 days.
Are we saying the same thing differently?
