Ah, there is so much. I don’t want to burden you with a ton of scholarship, but I do believe that all teachers are intellectual workers and should always be reading and learning more about their field. You never go wrong to start with Paulo Freire , who articulates some key aspects of social justice in education. I rely a lot on Gloria Ladson-Billings who talks about critical race theory in education and culturally relevant teaching. A more recent series of books And articles come from Paris and Alim, and they emphasize culturally sustaining pedagogy, a kind of development after GLB’s work. You could check out some great new work by Jay Guillen from Baltimore, Bettina Love, Valerie Kinloch and Charles Payne. And of course there’s my brother Bill Ayers. In math education, look at Rochelle Gutierrez and Kari Kokka. Ah, so much more but see if that helps
