Is there a market for lawyers to add expertise In crisis management or reputation management? My goal is to counsel clients on how to respond to media inquiries without saying or posting something detrimental to a potential litigation while still maintaining communication with their client base. I am currently in ID and wanting a miracle in-house position. I recently learned that the VP of Lit for an ins. carrier was promoted leaving her position open. I’m unsure if they’re planning to fill that vacant role. I have been invited to move up to the junior partner level in my mid-sized insurance defense/medical malpractice defense firm, but the terms essentially make me an independent contractor. What does your firm's junior partner track look like? I have been offered 50% of all income brought in, but I have to deal with my own insurance, pay all my own benefits, and handle my own insurance. Is this normal?

Does anyone stress about student loans? I have $176k in loans and as January gets closer, the panic attacks have gotten worser. I am in-house at a Real Estate company (making $90k), which is terrible bc they are going under due to the market. I am working to transition to big law for pay, job security and more technical skills. I am a 2019 grad and it just seems so hard to break into big law.

What is work-life balance like in big tech legal? I’m currently in house at a large multinational; I like my job and I get paid fine, with a very good WLB (40-45 hrs). I want to look into FAANG-type opportunities as they would mean a huge pay bump, and I think I’m qualified, but I have no idea about the hours, and I don’t want to substantially give up WLB, as that’s why I left BigLaw. I don’t want to be miserable again. I know Amazon is poorly reputed for lawyer WLB… what about other places?
