I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

Depends. Yes and no.
Depends on the client. The state of the account. How my eyes are on the project (is it award-worthy? I mean, I know you said banners, but still). Is the CD new and still finding their footing on the account? Is the ACD team new and the CD doesn't trust them, yet?
As a rule, if the account is humming, client isn't throwing a hissy fit, and the team is seasoned and the campaign is established, the banners should go through approvals pretty quickly. But that's a lot of "ifs"
And I learned a while ago that there is no job too low for senior talent.

Resizing: occasionally.
Approval for it: a lot of the time.
Dual approvals for it: never.
I don't think you can define your scope based on your job title so neatly these days, sometimes not even the CDs. 😐 But yes to the same process. I've worked on Facebook posts or LinkedIn carousels that go up to GCD, ECD or even CCO 😂 we joke about how much they're costing 😂
As long as the paycheck reflects the title and you get to work on some cool projects throughout the year…. Should it really matter? Resourcing might be in a bind.
There's a special place in hell for CDs that psychologically need to review and approve banners.
Agreed! I enjoy seeing the 1st round of concepts and a round of animation, but I also trust my teams to deliver the goods.
If you’re doing that there must be a reason. Somebody up the chain saw something that wasn’t right or that they didn’t like. Also there is nothing too junior-ish. My ECD still opens photoshop. I still do banners. That usually happens when seniors and ACDs aren’t getting it done. Regardless, nothing should be beneath you if you want to survive in this biz.
Titles come and go but banners are forever.

I’m a CD, and I do whatever it takes to get us through the day. Sometimes it’s a presentation, other times it’s mind numbing nonsense.
If you find yourself buried everyday in banners, by all means speak up and get some book-worthy briefs. If it’s just the occasional project that feels “beneath” you, I’d just suck it up and cash the checks. Unless you’re in the c-suite, all titles and responsibilities are pretty flat.
From time to time, we all gotta do it - these damn holding companies never allow for the proper amount of actual people to get stuff done, BUT, in my experience a true senior level team should be concepting and then setting the visual base for their concepts (approved by CD’s, ECD to bring to client. And the Sr team should get to present their concept to client). This would mean the Sr team needs to create the layout/tone of a piece and likely evolve it into a few varying proportions (horizontal, vertical, and maybe something in between that’s closer to square
After the client chooses one path, it’s up to either a junior art, a studio production artist, or a vendor to carry it out.
They can pay me as a senior to do all the different versions I used to do as a jr, but the money and time is better spent on me moving on to coming up with the next concepts and overseeing the dozens of iterations the jr makes.
