I’d ask a lot of questions on the scope of the role. To you point about glorified assistant, I’ve heard sometimes this role is that and sometimes a significant amount of coordination amongst functions, BUs, etc.
I’ve known a few people in the EA type situation and they all left very quickly.
I’d also ask about progression and where you’d potentially advance to next to make sure it’s not a dead end.
Cant speak to comp.
Good luck!

Thanks. Hope it’s a great spot for you, and sounds like a good opportunity.
If you haven’t been in industry, the only other thing I’d add is that CoS is also a highly political role (right hand man/woman to the CEO). Politics can change quickly and your fortunes can rise or fall.
Not meant to dissuade but just as something to look out for as it can be difficult to get the full picture during interviews.
It’s a good jump to eventually head a BU/Service line. I’ve been one and many others I’ve worked with have done it as well. As long as you’re not an EA, it’s a lot of driving important cross-functional projects on your own, pure strategy initiatives and lots of short/long-range planning. You’re a thought partner for the leadership team and help to execute their vision. Extremely interesting work to understand how C-level and the entire company runs by being near the top.
Comp at a T2 will probably be 200K - 275K Base, RSUs and a performance bonus (15-25%). If you’re good at your job, it’s a direct path to lead a BU as a VP
Thank you for your thoughts! Much appreciated and the next level in 4-5 years (hopefully) would be an amazing next level. But getting close to c-level and understanding how they think would be very insightful

Keep in mind that CoS roles are typically individual contributor roles, and thus pigeon holed to some extent. These are great for generalists and project manager types.
