As a tax manager how do you stop feeling like a factory worker on the line churning out tax returns? I’m outgoing and do not like being in the weeds…stayed in public accounting thinking making manager would get me to more of a sales/client relationship position but nothing changed since I was the main client contact as a senior and now have no one to delegate to.

Any advice for interviewing? I’m having trouble giving succinct answers to impromptu questions that I didn’t prepare answers to ahead of time. I have a second interview (on video) for an in-house position tomorrow and am seriously worried about rambling or not fully answering questions once my nerves fully kick in. Any other interview advice for ADHDers is much appreciated too!

Need advice. I was a transaction risk investigator at amazon. Resigned few months back. Since it became tough for me to handle baby and work. Now I'm planning to work again but I want to do more. I need to do find a right job i believe that gives me life and work balance. As an investigator earlier it caught really tough to even spare a minute because of high incoming cases. Need advice on what courses to pursue for good packages. (Have had good catch on SQL) i have had just 2 years experience.

Anyone else think the "Audit Experience" requirement for FDD roles is overblown?

From my experience talking and working alongside individuals in FDD is that the first year has a steep learning curve and while an Audit background is a nice to have the work you'll be doing is different from Audit.

I would think it would make more sense to bring in an associate sooner rather than wasting another year in Audit when they could already be learning the FDD role.

How does having an MBA in Business Analytics pay out? Is there a demand out for it? Is the job function/requirements enjoyable?

Hi All, I have been in TCS for the past 3.5 years. I have asked my supervisor for promotion, he gives excuses of Band criteria and COVID-19.
Will my promotion to ITA happen automatically once I complete 4 years in TCS or will it have to be done by the Actual process of begging managers and HRs to get the promotion.
Additionally, if I do get promoted to ITA, how many months will I have to wait to resign.

Working at small firm for 7 years. They created a new Staff Manager position to supervise and train the support staff in 1 office and other internal operation tasks. They promoted a paralegal into the position. They just asked me to take on the training across all offices because the Staff Manager is doing 50% paralegal work due to turnover. I told them if I were to take on a task of a manager, I should get a promotion and raise to do the task. They did not agree. What do you think?

Hi everyone! I was hoping to receive some advice with how to transition to product management. I'm currently a senior medical secretary, 2 years of experience, at a well know hospital with a BA in psych and econ and a certificate in PM (thought I would at least get that since my job pays for it). In the recruiter interview I wasn’t asked where I live. The job is with a huge sports wear company in Los Ángeles and I live in Miami. Does not living in the same city not make the hiring manger want to hire you even though I would move to the jobs location ASAP? And if they ask where I live do I say I live in their city? I was wondering if someone can help me clarify the PA requirements for taking the CPA Test. I have a Bachelors degree in Economics, but no Accounting credits. I was wondering if my 36 credits in ECON, Finance, Business Law classes will qualify me to sit for the test? I fully understand I need 150 for the license, plus 12 accounting credits which I plan on pursuing after passing the tests. The NASBA site says you need 24 credits in the above but it’s not specific.
