As anyone else a yang fan but (shamefully) scared that if he becomes president, sinophobia within the country will increase?
Sinophobia is already trending upwards with all the anti China rhetoric being thrown around. I'm not the biggest fan of Yang - think we can def put up a candidate that didn't have to buy their way in
Chinese in China (excluding Hong Kongers, Uighurs, and probably Tibetans, all of which amount to the tiniest fraction of the population) generally support the CCP, or are not unsatisfied enough to be considered anti-China. Nationalism is huge there.
You might be talking about Chinese neighbors like Vietnam, ROC, or Japan, all of which do have serious issues with Chinese regional hegemony.
Yang gang 2020. Ready for that 1K a month baby
I dont appreciate his shtick about being an asian who likes math, reinforces the stereotype that we're only good at being quants
I'd rather him be an Asian Trump, grab America by the balls (and win)
MATH = Make America Think Harder
Don’t worry. He’s not going to become the president 😂😂😂
Everyone else promising everything for free under the sun (Bernie and Warren) why not get paid $1k a month? Pay to play !
First.. y’all Asians should be voting for Yang because he will push Asians in America to a higher respectable level regardless of if you agree with his policies. Average Americans look at you by your race and skin color first and not trying to promote Asians in media or politics or leadership will subtly negatively affect you and your family in the long run.
Second, Sinophobia is already high as hell in the world and there is no point to let it keep growing. China is a huge part of Asian culture so allowing Sinophobia even if you’re not Chinese negatively affects all Asians, even Japanese, Koreans, Indians, and more. Asian countries make up the 3 of the top 4 economies in the World, yet smaller western countries get to dictate global trade and economic policies by leading the IMF and World Bank.
You don’t need to put your life or career on the line, but Asians need to do a better job of fighting back by putting themselves out there in politics, leadership, and media, and all Asians should support this to make a more equal and fair society that doesn’t normalize any hate and prejudice.
But he won't win, so the more attention and support he gets, the more he highlights that Asian "quantness" is insufficient to win the presidency.
