❗️PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION FOUND IN DRUG TEST❗️As expected, it was found in a drug test as part of a background check for a conditional job offer. Hireright called me & asked me for the name of my medication, name of pharmacy & their phone number. I called my pharmacy (big retail pharmacy) & they said they don’t give medical info to anyone that’s not my doctor … I’m afraid my offer will be rescinded. I’m freaking out. Has this happened to anyone? What do I do?
Reach out to the recruiter that is hiring you and say I am going to test positive for Adderall or whatever drug. Due to having a prescription what steps should I take to make sure It won't impact my offer. I do this before the drug test but as long as your honest with them that's all that matters especially because you are getting it from a doctor.
You can’t violate HIPAA by sharing your own medical information. You have the right to tell anyone, anything you want. The law prevents your doctor from telling anyone by you, and the insurance co using a payment code, without your written consent.
You just give them their info. Never been an issue. It’s their job to verify it.
Kinda surprised companies and still drug testing 🤔
Isn’t it a HIPPA violation to reveal to anyone in the hiring company about your medication?
It would be illegal for your doctor to tell your boss but you can tell anyone about your own medical history.
Yes I agree with everyone above. You just give them the info. As long as you are prescribed it, it won't be an issue.
