As I think about looking for a new job outside of recruitment, how do you reconcile leaving commission behind? I make 50k base but over 6 figs in commission within my first year, and I WFH. I’m still “early” career with only recruitment and admin work history, and it appears that any job I’d qualify for is realistically 45-70k.

Currently SDR for a start up making 40k w OTE 60k. The job is okay but recently there is a lack of marketing (no marketing person) so inbound leads are down… which is essentially ruining my compensation. Only been with the company for 6mo post undergrad. Only thing I really like is that it’s remote work and I’m not micromanaged. Should I stick it out and stay till the one year mark/ move to AE? Or should I look for another SDR position?

I recently interviewed at a company a few weeks ago. I didn’t get the job, but I asked if I could get some feedback on why I didn’t get it. She said it was because I had mentioned I’m getting married next year. I was pretty perplexed so I didn’t have anything to say. I just thanked her for her time. Is this normal? I’ve never encountered something like this before.

Need some advice/guidance. I’m currently with a F500 company, on a great team with decent benefits, A+ WLB, but my entire 8 yrs of recruiting has been retail/hourly roles, and recently have been wanting to expand my arsenal & get into tech/engineering. I currently make a comp of about 90k. Amazon recruiter reached out & they accepted my 150k comp expect & I’m now at the “on-site” interview portion. Recruiting is for engineering or IT roles. Is the Amazon WLB really that bad? It’s a big increase.
