1. max your pension contributions through your salary. Watch your tax free limit. This will help your income tax position.
2. Put as much as you can into your ISA as that’s tax free savings.

Advice will depend on how much you earn and what you can afford.
For ISAs can someone confirm something for me please Im still not sure after researching Q's:
I'm Nov 2019 I transferred multiple cash ISAs into a new vanguard S&S ISA which I have been paying into monthly ever since.
In Jan I opened a new S&S ISA with HL and transferred 1k into it. I then realised this was against rules and transferred back out within a few days.
Can i now transfer vanguard S&S into the previously opened HL and continue paying into that?
Or should I just continue paying into Vanguard till April then transfer to HL and pay into that?
Many thanks
Yep I've done the transfer process before just wasn't sure about paying into two diff ones like this after transfer.
I think what I'll do is I'll continue paying into my passive vanguard global all cap / emerging markets funds about 1k a month, then remaining 5k allowance I'll open cash ISA. Then next year I'll start using originally opened HL and transfer the existing S&S ISA into it keeping the funds but just new payments will be to active funds with focus (eg robotics and AI). I'll also transfer the cash ISA and use that as starting point for the S&S in HL.
This way I'll have some in less aggressive and some in more riskier funds. Just gotta confirm whether it make sense to transfer to HL from vanguard old stuff from a cost perspective
