I have a BA in Coms as well. I ended up going to a tech bootcamp and that’s how I pivoted. I would look into email marketing and your best best is through a contract role for a company. Learn Html,SEO,etc and you can land a role in Martech
I agree with the above comments; those technical skills are really helpful in breaking into many industries when you have a Communication degree. Did you have a niche of marketing in mind? If you don't, that might be something you want to consider! You can specialize in email marketing, traditional marketing, digital marketing, and even social media. It also helps to have a portfolio of some marketing campaigns you eventually work on!
I recently found a Digital Marketing Institute certificate, apparently it's very prestigious but also costly. Consider taking up a certification of sorts to boost your resume.
I also have a BA in comms and I find that people really prefer when you have technical skills, such as SEO training and analytics skills. Look into some online courses (Udemy has a lot of options) to get you started.
I also had a lot of great feedback on my online portfolio, which was a personal website I made to showcase all of my different skills, professional and personal. I linked different projects that I worked on and highlighted tasks that supported my listed skills, even if I wasn’t professionally trained in it.
Take a course to learn more about marketing analytics and tech tools you can use to build marketing funnels and track engagement
I'm a fellow BA in Communications.
I started as a social media marketing specialist. From there, I was able to expose myself to different areas in digital marketing and learned a lot.
Perhaps working at a digital agency would be the best to learn everything about digital marketing. It's hard but it's worth it.
