Aside from all the usual benefits like paid vacation time, health insurance, 401k matching program, have you ever seen a truly unique business perk?

I'm not sure what you consider unique, but my company gives us winter shut down from christmas to the day after new years, plus we have the option to purchase an additional week of vacation. Some parts of the company don't get the the winter shutdown, but they get compensated with 6 floating holidays. This means you can get up to 5 weeks of vacation starting to use whenever you want.

Work on holidays and exchange for 2 PTO.
Worth it to me since travel during holiday always more expensive. Worked on MLK and veteran day for 4 extra PTO was nice.

One company that comes to mind is Google. They have a unique perk called "20% time." This allows employees to spend 20% of their time working on personal projects. This can be a great way to foster creativity and innovation within the company.

Some businesses offer unique perks like pet insurance or massages. Massages depends of personal opinion but pet insurance sounds like one of the greatest perks a job could offer to any pet owner

Thoughts on leaving public to go to a $200M plastic packaging company for an accounting manager position? They make plastic containers for food, medical retail, etc. Would be about a 30% raise, but less PTO and flexibility. 45 hours per week Oct-March then 40 or less the rest of the year.

As a job seeker, what would be the benefits of taking a 12 month contract with no "contract-to-hire" statement in the listing over a salary or contract-to-hire position? I'm currently questioning if I should look for other opportunities, but potentially giving up my 401k, health insurance, and other benefits is nerve-racking, especially as a head of a household of four. Would it be beneficial to start a LLC or something if I were to go this route? I've only held salary positions in tech.

My current employer has a not great work/life balance but it’s much easier to get promoted.
