Aside from the exec, are there partner who are fully mid/back office? And if so, what does their income look like?

Boyfriend’s family loves to make fun of things I say and ask provoking questions so they can get a laugh out of my response. I’m a lot more reserved and quiet than most of them are. I’ve talked to him about how uncomfortable it makes me and his response is that it’s part of their personality and that I seem rude when I don’t play along with it. He’s the “family does no wrong” type. Should I just start defending myself or just stop going to family events when those certain family members attend?

Is it just me, or has a tech boom sucked a large amount of top resources away from consulting, leaving pretty much every firm scrambling for talent? Perhaps coupled with some downsizing during COVID has made this even more material.

Lost a high performing SM to an industry job earlier this month. They were on track to becoming a Partner in 2022 but still decided to take an industry job which pays $400K. I tried to explain that they would make $600K as a first year partner and the income can go up to $1M in next 5-6 years. They still refused to stay in consulting because they think that becoming a Partner is just the beginning of the rat race and did not want to deal with sales/revenue targets for the next 20 years 😔😔

I had done a lot of sales at my old firm, but through leading RFP responses/orals and building on existing clients, I didn’t really have to source new net clients.
