How do you all suggest landing a job offer? Because I’ve tried all of the above listed and more, but still no offer.

For interviews a recruiter told me some things that are most important to the hiring team:
- Passion for the role/overarching team
- Desire to work with the company
- Focus on communication, making sure answers are concise and that you fully answer the question and are not too vague
- Use the STAR method
- Make sure you can go into detail about everything on your resume. I had research projects that I couldn’t remember the fine details about and it got me super flustered. I’m sure the interviewer didn’t super care about going deep into complex research but its good to be prepared so you don’t choke
- Demonstrate ability to collaborate and receive feedback

Hope this helps!

Your list is pretty comprehensive. The only thing I don’t see on it is Resume/Cover optimization.

If you’re still not getting any callbacks after all that I’d suggest you take a hard look at each. Perhaps you aren’t doing something as well as you think you are?

like

I will consider this. I’m getting callbacks and even making it to the final round of interviews, just not landing an offer

Are you getting interviews?

Yep I’m getting interviews. Even getting to final round, just not landing an offer

Have you tried recording yourself and reviewing it (or better yet, having someone else do it)? Done mocks to get feedback?

Yep. I’ve recorded myself and practiced in the mirror. I’ve also done mocks and gotten feedback. Still no luck getting an offer

I am terrible at withholding salary information from recruiters. Yesterday a recruiter gave the line “I would hate for us to get to the end of the interview process only for it to turn out that we couldn’t give the salary you would need” so I panicked and threw out a number that was thirty percent higher than my current pay. He then told me the salary range which was way higher! Do you really just firmly repeat “I need to learn more about the team and benefits before I can assign a number?”

Im supposed to have an interview with deloitte tomorrow but they never sent an invite. Has this happened to anyone else?

Random, but valid/persistent thought.

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

How should I bring up pay expectations in my next round of interviews to ensure I am aware of what this position is offering so I don’t lowball or overshoot myself?
