Mck1 - That's actually a terrible rate. Converting hotel points is generally a bad idea unless it's the SPG 1:1 or you use the marriott 25% united bonus (that's still bad too) Any way you can use a hyatt stay? worst case transfer some chase sapphire points over and get one full night.

Ok self proclaimed points guru... what is your best redemption?

Reaction Icon Like
Arrow Icon

Good question .. usually my best redemptions are for short haul flights in US or europe using BA avios last minute especially when the one way is like 300-400 dollars. Long hauls always at the saver price.

Reaction Icon Like
Arrow Icon

Y? Or have you ventured into the J/F redemptions? And saver on who? Not all programs are equal!

What does an 800 GMAT do you for you? Can it get you interviews at M7 schools despite being mediocre in other areas? Wondering if it’s special given its rarity vs 780 or 790. I’ve been getting ~780 on practice tests but wondering if the extra 20 points are worth it. Goal is HSW but would settle for any M7.

Corporate card not giving me AMEX points because my bill isn’t paid in time? I’m on top of my expenses, I think it’s because of deloitte’s lag time. Lost $100 of points—is there any way around this?

Looking for stroller recommendation! Our 1st child will arrive in December. Currently lean towards a travel system. Another factor to consider is that we plan to have another child after year or two and would prefer to get one that could convert into a double stroller.

How do you answer “what are you looking for”? Always depends on the flow for me. Maybe a relationship, but maybe we are much better as drinking buddies, fwb, travel buds, professional contacts, etc.

All-my dad has been guilt tripping me into visiting him. He is 8 hours away driving without stopping. I am pregnant and am not traveling anywhere where I can’t drive non stop - not even seeing my in laws 90 minutes away. I know it sounds crazy but that is where I am. He half jokingly said I could wear Depends. Please tell me I’m not crazy and that it’s okay for me to not go and my dad should be at least somewhat understanding. We don’t have the best relationship.
