She was quiet for a few seconds then confidently said, "Because I can think."

Yes. You should be proud. This is incredible for her own independent thinking and confidence. Sometimes I wish my parents didn’t shelter us from the hard questions while growing up.

I feel proud too

An amoeba doesn't know it's real?

How do you know the amoeba is real?

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. Question for the Biglaw Bowl: How common is it to take a pay cut when being promoted from associate to income partner? I had heard about this happening at some lower ranked V100 firms. But now that I’m more senior and my friends are making partner, it sounds like it’s a lot more common than I thought and happens at firms where I wouldn’t expect it. Does anyone here have any insight into this? How common is it, how much of a pay cut, and how long until your pay catches up to associate pay?

Most of my freelance work over the past three years has been cannabis industry related. I was hired in the beginning of November in-house for a growing brand. (pun not intended) It feels like the wild west where anything goes and most people seem to be winging it.

So much potential to do great work, but nothing I would show or be proud of. I did better work as a consultant.

Anyone else working on the Brand side of the cannabis industry? Thoughts?
