I racked up about $20k in credit card debt due to a confluence of things happening at once (move, school expenses , etc ). I have a fair amount of paper assets but not a much free cash. Assets are down a decent amount with the current market cycle and I’d prefer not to sell them to cover the debt , although they easily could. I had a preliminary phone screening with a recruiter who asked my salary range. I tried to ask for their budget because i didn’t have the full position details, but they didn’t provide and asked again the range I was hoping for. I did end up responding, and secured an interview within the next couple of weeks. If all goes well will there be room for negotiations if I get an offer?
