Asking for a friend, can you get into an entry level change management consultant position at big 4 straight from college? All the job posting seem to be for senior level and up.

I think you answered your own question. How can you consult people on stuff if you have zero experience? Companies pay consultants for their advice and expertise. If you're a new hire you have no advice or expertise that people are willing to pay for. That's why generally the lowest ranks have a few years of experience under their belt.

And as a side note, I think PwC as a hole is slowing its hiring process especially for inexperienced associates or college graduates. At least from what I've seen, we've over-hired way way way too much and are trying to figure out how to best utilize the associates we already have. That may be why there are not a lot of openings.

Yes. You will be sitting taking notes while someone else, likely a senior or manager, is talking but typically that is where you gain experience. I've worked in both in a back office job and client facing within PwC and it would be difficult to move from a back office slave position to client facing without that time listening to you seniors/managers/directors talk though issues with clients. The actually work on deliverables you will learn no matter what and that's the easy part at least in my opinion. Learning to critically think on the spot, pulling in all possible resources in front of a multi million dollar client is the challenge and the only way to learn is to see someone else in action.

You work in audit or some other business line prior to the move to consulting.

Firm pulse suggests we are thinking about keeping some more WFH post recovery. While it’s nice in a vacuum, I’ve actually been working more hours and taking more evening meetings after my kids go to bed. I worry if we adopt some of this, there will be more pressure on EDs to control travel expenses and everyone’s life on the road will be less frequent but more miserable - while reducing the separation between work life and home life. Make your vote count on this pulse.

So... are they firing the people who made these decisions to over hire? To over budget? Who overshot our annual goals? Who led failing practices? Are people at the top getting let go for this?
