57k is pretty low for LA. You can live on that, but it’s hard The best way to approach this is probably to sit down with your boss, tell them you’re struggling with your current salary and ask them what things you would need to achieve to get a raise. A good boss will hear that and want to help, especially if you make it clear you’re willing to put in more work for the raise.

Yes - I am thinking instead of telling them hey I worth here and therefore my salary needs to be like this.. I would just tell them I would like to get 70-75k and can I get more responsibilities or anything that I can improve on in order to get there. Do you think this approach is ok?

I would recommend you research and see what the salary benchmark for your role is and bring that up to your supervisor. If you are within your bench mark then you would ask for a raise based on your experience, work ethic, and other strengths you bring to the company. I always find the few items you can show that you do that makes your boss life easier helps. Ie. Monthly reconciliations, transfers, etc. Things they don't want to do... If all fails and you need extra $$ work a freelance gig on the side or something you are passionate about then you can have fun and make some extra $$$.

Thank you for your reply! The thing that I struggled with is I only have 2 years experience there working full time (my first job out of college). My boss knows what I do and I always get praise of what I do. I cannot work freelance because of my visa.. if I can work part-time I will definitely do it but I cannot legally..

Hi guys, I had my technical round with TCS yesterday. It went on for 45 mins and I had answered close to 17 of the 20 questions that were asked to me. The interviewer also gave a positive kind of response stating that you will have a managerial round after this and then HR. But nothing has happened after that. I tried emailing the HR who had arranged for my interview but I did not receive a response. Any idea about the TCS hiring process or how else can I reach them to kno the results ?

Hi folks! I moved to DC recently and used to sell my art on the side before I came to America. I can’t do that here on my visa, but I still paint 🙂 If anyone is looking for abstract artwork on canvases DM me and I can share my art page with you where I post my canvases at cost price - just covering some of my materials so I can keep painting! (A great deal considering what they used to go for 😂) I’m looking for good homes for all this artwork building up! 🙌
