Asking for my brother: he just graduated with a bachelors in sustainability. What kind of jobs in sustainability consulting are good entry points for fresh college grads? Any specific companies to go for?

I am sorry to say but if he has already graduated and these are the questions you/he still need answers too, the ship has sailed.

like

They're not wrong though.

Best bet is to apply for internships all over the place and try to do something productive with the year.

Don't limit yourself to sustainability or you will struggle to find a job at this stage.

You are infinitely more employable when you already have a job.

like

Accenture has a large sustainability practice and is actively hiring - Id point him there

like

Hiring is hot for consultants who already have a couple yoe+, the entry level slots are most certainly filled for the year.

deloitte i know has been doubling down on those initiatives and frankly in-house sustainability groups work on cool stuff… easier to get into if your brother already graduated

Not consulting specific but may be interesting: http://climatebase.org

EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) is rapidly growing. Feel free to message if you have any questions/if he would like to learn more.

He didn’t do any internships?

Maybe finance ESG analyst? A lot of financial firms and consulting firms have a division but he needs to have a strong data background

Double-down on it and get a masters in it.

KPMG is investing building an ESG consulting practice might be worth exploring there too

At my last startup, we hired a sustainability major fresh graduate to be on our investor relations teams. He was passionate about sustainability and we were able to channel that passion into including the company too.

Hi Folks,
My wife has 5 years of experience in Banking Industry now she want to switch her career in IT, she has worked as coding instructor for html/css/js/react native, she has React certification as well. Now she is ready to take interviews.

Hi everybody,

Looking for some insight/curious to hear how others would handle this situation:

I have an offer I want to accept; I was trying to negotiate for a signing bonus… but they’re not budging.

The issue is, the start date is in a month and I’m up for a promotion in a week at my current company. I would like to leave before I get promoted, I think it would be pretty low of me to accept and promptly quit.

Not the new employer’s problem? Or can/should I try to leverage this?

Can some experienced product manager guide me and PPL like me here on this fish bowl a step by step plan to achieve this goal. What courses we can join, what books to read

I recently got a job offer from a company I used to work for that has a great work/life balance and culture but has a slower track to get promoted. My current employer has a not great work/life balance but it’s much easier to get promoted. Currently 5 years into my career currently bouncing between a project lead and a discipline manager… it’s a decent pay bump- 30%. But is it worth giving up the future potential advancements ?

I could use some guidance on how to transition out of firm life into a government role. Prior to law: four years working for a state and a city, and four years before that worked at a consulting agency strictly serving government agencies and cities/counties. You’d think this would parlay well into the government roles I am applying for, but so far no dice. I’m entering my fourth year practicing as a lawyer. I love admin law, have some litigation and some transaction work as a lawyer. Thanks!

Hi folks. I’m a data scientist at a T2/B4 firm that does fairly technical work. I am prepping for interviews to transition to SWE-data at a big tech company and currently have a little over 1 yoe.

Since prep usually takes a while for swe, I have not started seriously applying. However, I am likely to receive an offer for 110-120k at another consulting firm. I was hoping to get some thoughts from other technical folks that made the transition. More in comments

My growth has been the following:

FY20: 12k
FY21: 14k
FY22: 18k

The offer:
100k, with $7.5k sign on bonus. I’d be paid hourly with opportunity for OT for the first 3-6 months as inside sales while I learn the product and then transition into outside sales at 120k base
