Index funds following S&P500.
If you want to play with something (which should be a very small % of your portfolio), I’ve been investing into marijuana, artificial meats and green energy.
Highly recommend managed investment tools...Betterment, Wealthfront. I personally use Bettermemt & it’s AWESOME. Have a few friends who use WF & like it a lot too. PM if you want more infk
I would look at Fidelity or Vanguard index funds. You don’t want to pay a front load fee (money taken out before you invest) and you also want to pay as low of management fee as you can. Also would look at investing in ways that are taxed advantages to lessen your tax burden if you aren’t already (e.g., IRA, 401k, HSA, 529, etc)
I use generic index funds. I want to have some play money, but I’m not quite there yet...
Stock picking can be risky, as can timing the market, so I just keep doing index funds since it also reduces my exposure requirements
Explore Bogleheads.com for their simple 3 fund investing strategy. US index fund, International index fund and Bonds index fund. It is up to you how you want to allocate your money across all 3 e.g. 70-20-10 or 60-20-20....
And I second D1 suggestion of using Vanguard for this strategy. John Bogle founded Vanguard after all
since savings rates are going down. Not very well-versed in what types of index funds, etc. might be good to explore. Any thoughts or tips?
