Have the opportunity to join a startup consultancy as a Product Manager and move away from the big 4.
Going to be employee 15 as opposed to an org with ~650K employees.
Same pay. A LOT of growth opportunity. Less overall benefits, but I think the experience will net me out to be a Director in just a year or two within the org, and a lot of potential to move out from there.
I'm slightly terrified, but the team feels awesome, and they have some big clients.
What would you do?
For those that went in house with an insurance company how many years of experience did you have and how is it? Frankly it seems attractive to me: slightly to better salary, no billables. Nor am I attracted to achieving any kind of “status” with my career. A solid six figures to live life is pretty much the goal at this point
If you've had a bonus before, what's a sensible thing you've spent it on before, and a not so sensible thing?

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect. Can anyone offer advice?

He expressed interest in creating a Director level role for me based on my experience and interests. I received feedback via a 3rd-party recruiter that the company is in the process of creating a req. and will bring me on-site for another interview. Problem: They changed the level to Principal Eng. What should I do?

I’ve been working here for 2 years and my company is well established and the job is easy, but I honestly just want higher pay. I’m having a hard time finding out what opportunities/paths I can take and what amount of $ would be worth moving jobs for. Any insight is appreciated!
