Associate Creative Director vs Associate Design Director. What are the differences in terms of responsibility, role within the ad agency, and how each role fit within the career path?

I feel like ACD would still be working on more conceptual advertising projects, and leading them, with creative teams below. Whereas an ADD (ha) would be working more on design-centric projects and less traditional work.

I would imagine that both would still have to present to clients. ACDs maybe a little more. It’s really dependent on the agency though.

Personal thoughts.. design director sounds cooler

Design directors can still move into CD roles. Ive also seen them flex and go into product design, consulting and branding very naturally. They are great to have in conceptual discussions and a strong design practitioner who can also think conceptually is arguably hard to come by these days.

Visa friends! Had an interview in London, got the verbal, and am doing the visa dance. Started the process 2 weeks ago with HR and now they've ghosted me since then, though they said I have stuff to fill out ASAP. Normal? And am I too American pushy if I reach out to the hiring manager (and my future team) for an update instead?

Thoughts on Dentsu Aegis? I've received an offer for a role (promotion) and thinking about whether it is a sound move - especially in this environment. They went through furloughs and pay cuts in April due to COVID. I'd be making the move from EY which is a great company to work with - but there is such a long line up to get a promotion, and for roles I've interviewed for internally I get the good ole - you were awesome and it was rly close, but someone was just a better fit.

JDs/lawyers who have left Big 4, how did you go about your job search? Everyone is hiring in my field (international tax) now, but jobs in industry seem to be almost exclusively compliance-focused.

Trump is spot on Re: Nord Stream II pipeline. If we are to help defend Germany, they should not be buying Russian oil/gas. Reliance on Russian energy puts them in a compromising position. Why should we bankroll Germany’s defense against Russia when German energy purchases are lining Russia’s pockets? Isn’t Russia the biggest geopolitical threat to Germany in the first place? Buy American LNG exports before turning towards a geopolitical adversary!

How much does the whiteness of an agency play into your decision of taking a role? Not saying it’s gotta be all black, but have you ever ruled out a shop because it’s too white?

Who else is tired of people who post on here with vague AF titles that don’t give any indication of job role or department? Senior Manager, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Manager, I’m looking at you. These are levels of seniority, not job titles. And they always seem to be the most opinionated.

I've been laid off from D. I'm seeking a similar role, "Resource Manager" or "Engagement Staffing Manager". To summarize, the role entails working with business managers to help fill open roles, providing available staff, and forecasts, etc.; and working with practitioners as they near or land on the bench. Do other consulting firms, such as EY, PWC, Accenture, etc. have such positions? If so, what are titles do they have? I'm seeking alternative search terms.
