I was up for a June promotion and now am doing the work sans title due to COVID-19 - now with no promised promotion after 2 years as an AAE. Thoughts? Do I find another job elsewhere, or stick it out?
Accenture 🐠 can I expect a pay raise after a transfer out of CD&O to C&M (Tech Consulting > Digital) ?
I work at a mid tier firm in an audit group of ~20 people. We’ve recently had two seniors and a manager leave, and I just found out another senior with a ton of big jobs is leaving in three weeks. I also just found out I’m being promoted to senior with a raise of 10%. In light of all these departures though, I kind of want to ask for more.... should I? And what % raise is appropriate? Any insight appreciated!
This past busy season was my second. I anticipate promotion to senior. Do I stick it out one more year or jump ship now? How much difference does it make for industry offers?
What is the path to a GC for a senior associate on a TN? I’ve been with my firm since college (2 years) - firm policy is that they initiate the process after a two year tenure (and provided you are senior associate rank, at minimum). Will I be able to pass the PERM evaluation? If not, would things get easier with a subsequent promotion? Or would it be best to lateral to a new firm and start the process there? Sorry, super green when it comes to this
I'm a first year and just received a raise, even though I haven't been at the firm for a year yet. It's a great amount, and I'm so thankful. The partners told me in person but I'm just wondering if I should ask them to put it in writing, just to confirm it and in case anything happens down the road? If I learned anything as an attorney, it's to always have everything in writing lol
Any tips on asking for a pay raise? Ive been working so hard and getting great feedback... but struggling so much to afford daycare and all of our normal expenses while still trying to save.
Any idea if next year bonus/promotion at EY GDS will be same like this year ? If yes then there is no point in involving extra PD activities. Thats why I wanted to check
Woke up at 3am with work anxiety; got out of bed around 5.30 to sketch slides. NEVER happened before in nine years of consulting. MD promotion stress may be what finally does me in 😩
Thoughts on giving yourself a promotion to a CD when you start freelancing if you where long due for a promotion anyway?
Is anyone else starting to get nervous about the supposed return to normal pay at Deloitte? I can't see it happening. I think there will be more excuses and more cuts. I'll have to leave. I can't afford or justify trying to raise a family on an APS4 wage with over 10 years in the professional workforce working 55 hour weeks.
I was asked to take on formal supervisor duties without a promotion or raise for at least 1 year. Tips on how to negotiate this?
Is it possible for you & your partner to both be career driven/focused and be able to raise kids? My husband & I have 1 child so far & we want to expand our family with 1 more but I’ve been told from multiple people that 1 person usually has to back down & it’s usually the mom. We both have demanding jobs but we’ve made it work so far with scheduling & tag teaming activities/tasks related to our kid, dogs & home.
Anybody been offered a promotion with no corresponding pay rise? I assumed that was impossible but am worried that may be what's on offer. Surely not??!
Considering going for the CFE. What was your study plan for it and how long did it take?
Hi there I had an interview with EY yesterday. Interview went well & the interviewer gave me the positive feedback for Senior Business Intelligence Analyst post. Can anyone tell me about the next step of EY now? what's the hiring process of Senior BA? because there is no proper interview experience on Glassdoor. Thanks.
Hi! Any tips for a Senior product manager case study? It was given to me as one of the steps in the interview process. The case study asks me to come up with a solution for a product problem the company has given me.
Let's say I have 100k invested in a SaaS startup that went public. I'm 28, employed, have another 35k invested in ETFs/dozen other stocks and have maxed out my 401k and roth contributions. I'm bullish on the startup for the long term. Would you: 1) Recoup your initial investment pre-IPO and let the rest ride 2) Sell the full 100k, pay capital gains tax, and diversify 3) A mix of both, and if so what allocation

I am freaking out. I interviewed for a job I really want and one of the CDs (male) kept saying he wanted a young person in the role. I’m 37 but look pretty young (Asian), either way it bothered me....
I finally got a data scientist interview and the amount of preparing and studying you have to do is crazy
On the flipside, who is the worst person you have worked with? Why? (Co-worker, client, manager, etc..)
Hi everyone 👋 Doing a thought exerci, would anyone have any input to share on what to expect after 5 years for the following (e.g: after 5 YoE in consulting you’d be M level with compensation range around etc etc) 1) FS Consulting, 5 YoE —> 2) Asset Management (research role or systems role) , 5YoE —> 3) Banking (Credit Risk/CCR), 5YoE—-> I know depends on type of firm (T2 consulting, BB etc) not too interested in that but more about how the career paths differ / any ceilings for pay — TIA
Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾
Thoughts on Skype vs. on-campus interview? Invited to interview with Anderson, but coming from the east coast, I’d love to save the $ & time for other interviews and (hopefully) admitted student days
Been severely struggling with depression and anxiety lately. Obviously this job is one big reason why. I opened up to the partner a few months back about it when I started missing random days when I couldn’t get out of bed. Maybe 2/3 days over the last 4 months total. This week he sat me down and told me he is worried about my mental health causing me to be a “liability” to the firm. I can’t stop thinking about this and don’t know how to turn it around.
If you filed I-485 are you in status if you quit or are laid off and have enough time to basically find a new job until you get your interview? Im trying to understand what happened in the days when eb based gc didn’t require an interview and someone was laid off
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Been getting a ton of recruiter outreach messages lately, and a lot of them are attractive roles that I would never even be on a shortlist for. I'm a mid-range analyst at best. Anyone else getting these messages too? Is the market really that thin? I find it a bit unbelievable because I spent two years unemployed and barely getting interviews prior to COVID.
