I have received an offer from them and the HR is insisting that the offices aren't gonna open anytime soon and employees will always have the freedom to work remotely but not ready to give that in written. Wanted to understand how long before I might be called back to the office in bangalore? Pwc AC

Do not take a paralegal role if you are an attorney. You will fall behind and people will wonder why.
Do the imm thing and change practice areas after a year if you dont want to do imm.
Agreed. I took a glorified paralegal role pre-license. Now that I have my license, I am getting offers from firms I don’t want and getting passed on by opportunities I truly desire. It’s been an uphill battle looking for work.
Don’t see this as even a question. Option 2 hands down. Turning that paralegal role into something is going to be remarkably difficult. Take the attorney role and more $. And who knows, you might like immigration or be able to parlay that into commercial work.
Neither.
Step 1. Get an IAPP certification, and apply to consulting companies as a privacy consultant. Check the Big4 specifically.
Step 2. Do a year of that then get an in-house privacy counsel job.
Step 3. From there, decide if you want to stay in privacy or start transitioning to a product counsel or commercial counsel role.
Step 4. Profit
Yup. A few of my colleagues from my consulting days had the same path as well.
I’m an atypical hiring manager (focus more on experience and skills than academics and I hire non-college grads for fairly senior non-lawyer positions) and I still wouldn’t hire an attorney who worked as a paralegal.
Working as a paralegal and then becoming a lawyer is great experience that I want. Becoming a lawyer and then working as a paralegal raises red flags I want to avoid.
