Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I’ve come around OP, agree with you. Our democracy has already been weakened

for a country who loves to drag those less fortunate about being responsible, we would be all too keen to hold others responsible for our actions as feeling, thinking people with free will

Yeah if US democracy crumbles we'll have far more serious worries than holding platforms to trial
Agreed. I just think about the role these platforms continue to play.
Assuming? We haven't had democracy in the US for quite some time now.
1. Take money out of politics.
2. Break up the two party system to have multiple political parties.

How exactly would they be held accountable, and assuming democracy crumbled, what authority would be holding them accountable and for what reason (since it enabled them to take power)?
Perhaps in the books of history. The role they played.
Yes but as others have stated by whom?
I’m reduced to just hoping that one day Zuckerberg will figure out his role and live with overbearing guilt. A distant hope.
Also I think they threw gasoline on a fire but right wing radio, fox and abandonment of the fairness doctrine have been around for a much longer time.
If the democracy crumbles, the media has to take the blame - they are the most powerful and unaccountable group out there
#1: never bet against the American economy.
#2: yes. Hold them accountable for censorship and infringing on A1.

Not if they held. Us economy and market has been strongest for a while now. The dips in both have been shallower than the world at large.

This isn't the worst we've faced as a country. I don't see much risk to the country, even with jerks from both parties running crazy. We've also had much worse journalism and survived.
I think we all like to think we live in the worst of times.
Feels like blaming the obesity epidemic on forks.
While I’m similarly upset at the general quality of discourse, it’s completely our collective fault, and those tools have just exasperated it or made it readily apparent. Tribalism, anti-intellectualism, and weak journalistic ethics have gotten us where we are today. Those platforms have no obligation to reverse it and probably couldn’t even if they tried.
Agree with BCG1. But yes.
If someone shoots you with a Desert Eagle, should Magnum be held accountable for developing that tool ?
a fool with a tool is still a fool. doesnt matter what twitter and facebook does, it is still the users fault for not applying due diligence on a topic.
In your theoretical premise, I don't think it would be held responsible.
No. But if there's anarchy Zuckerberg should stock up on all the rifles he can find because he's going to need it lol

These are just the tools. Even if you take away social media, outcome can't be changed
Personally I would love it if the President nationalizes social media and most media in general. Then he could decide what is posted on Twitter
@Deloitte 1, MD1 is an MD. Please provide your implementation plan to proceed ahead with the discussion 😉
Crumbles? What do you consider the current state of democracy in the US?
Yes
