Hi all i have an offer from one of big4 but reading the comments all through fishbowl wlb bad and long streching hours i am afraid to join
However i have also not been able to grab any other offers yet my np will end next week.
My concern is i am giving interviews in few of startup organisations which are founded in 2015/17 & 1of them might release offer with a package of x+1which i already hold from big4
Is it sensible to join a startup in comparison to big4 or is it stupid of me nt join b4.Tata Consultancy

Found a cool platform for angel investing that I thought I’d share. Feels kind of like a shark tank style with pitches being presented on a newsfeed. It’s free and easy to join. The founders have also been super helpful with questions.
Here’s the link for anyone interested. Would love to discuss some of the pitches on there.

I don’t know the official number at my B4 firm, but I would guess the % of first year senior managers (what we call them) who ultimately get promoted is less than 20%, halfway split between equity partner and managing director. The other 80% dwindles over the years, with many voluntarily leaving and a smaller percentage getting counseled out several years in if they are not seen as partner material. The last 10-20% are “in the pipeline” and working hard to make their case.
I think better question is how many religiously follow that goal and get it eventually. Many “wish” to be one and quite a few “wait and watch”
<10%
There are a lot of “career SMs” who are never going to make PPMD and they’re ok with it. Most are in their late 40s early 50s making upwards of 250k and have no exit opportunities. It’s the end of the road for a lot of them.
Less than 2% when you account for turnover.

Somewhere between 10 and 15 percent of SMs make it to Partner ranks . Rest either leave themselves or get counseled out

Yes - true . Some make peace with it
At D, 20% sounds way too high. I’d say 5-10%
