At a boutique healthcare firm with very limited scope. How do I learn more broad consulting principles and how to think like a consultant at large?

If you feel there is limited potential for growth in the skills you want to acquire at this firm, then definitely consider transferring to another consulting gig - at the same time, ensure that you're doing good work, and building strong relationships, even if you don't really see yourself being there long term

Take a course on case interviewing from Management Consulted, Rocketblocks, or Crafting Cases. The approach to problem solving you learn in casing is a miniaturized version of consulting engagements.

Recently made the jump from mostly insurance defense work where my average billable rate was around $225/hr. Now the average billable rate is probably about $450/hr. Would I be able to get away with my insurance defense billing practices. I was averaging about 2800/yr before. Would that be cool in big law?

I’ve been off my last billable project for about a month, but my firm has had me putting in full days to work on important internal initiatives and business development that are being taken very seriously, and that include deadlines, etc. very similar to the work I’d do while on a project. Is it likely I’ll be laid off if this continues for another couple of months? How long do you think my firm might let me stay employed like this if they continue to have this much non-billable work for me?

Should I be concerned for my career with lack of billable projects? Background: Analyst hired out of undergrad in July 2020. Should I keep collecting paychecks and hoping for projects, or is this a serious issue that should prompt an exit strategy?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
