At BDO and plan to move cities where there's no office. Deciding between a regional firm and big 4. Not really interested in staying mid-tier (they try too hard). Thoughts?

B4 is never a bad idea career wise, but be prepared they may discount your previous experience and bring you in at a lower level.

like

I wouldn't limit your options. Apply for both and see which people you like better. You're experienced, so you'll know what you like and what you don't like.

like

Try to be up to par with B4 but have lower fees. Audits are already high quality let's not go overboard. And you don't get the prestige factor.

You just never know what kind of projects you'll end up on. Could be in b4 hell quick.

If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

So I have recently joined a startup in the EV space. It's a SPAC, so it's a crazy ride. I interviewed for a top HR job, but they offered me a second-in-command opportunity, and I took it. Overall, I love it. However, I recently got an opportunity to join crypto-NFT startup as a top HR. My current startup is well funded, sales could be better, but we just acquired a company to help us to progress with them. The leadership team is strong, but a bit on the boomer-ish side of things.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

If that’s you – we should chat! I would love to share my experience with you, so you can avoid some pretty common pitfalls I made.

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work. Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?
