Would you take the following offer: Base - ~$180K; Bonus - ~$30K; RSU - ~$15k; Total Comp - ~$225K; F500 firm, not tech, mid-west, individual contributor role with potential for senior roles in 2 years. Good WLB, but not the most interesting industry. Currently working at a T2 Strategy Consulting firm, 2.5 years out of a T10 MBA. $200K all in. 7 YoE. Happy with consulting so far and performing well, but would like better WLB. How much better are tech exit ops given SF cost of living?
Gotta love the Client procurement dept reaching out to share results of the annual review 2 months after the folks in Marketing fired us. Might wanna work on that internal comms piece first there pal!

Is this behavior normal? I just left a call with the SM, and Partner of a project, and the SM threw my manager under the bus. My M wasn’t on the call to defend himself, & I know for a fact that the fault was more on the SM not being present on the project, not communicating details he got from client to rest of team. M is also my coach and has been awesome at mentoring me and taking me under his wing, but he’s leaving for industry because the hours and WLB has brutal for him & he has a family.
If the client fucks up filing today like they fuck up everything else, I will loseeee my shit. YOU FOOLS!!! #inconceivable
Offered a position as Family Office Controller in NYC. They are asking me what I expect for compensation. Don’t know what the current controller makes. Any advice for a range or how to negotiate?
I have to ask... what is the obsession with FAANG? Arguably the only good exit opp for consultants there is Google.
4th year going into my 5th year and am leading discovery and case management on a case with a $5 million budget (yeah!) with a rocket docket. Starting to understand why partners have no time to do substantive work: it’s all answering client questions and managing staff, associates, and reviewing partners. Any tips for the transition? I’ve never been too demanding from my colleagues and usually just pick up any slack myself. Now I need to motivate others and give direction.
Currently doing PMO work on an interesting project. I want to get an MBA from a top 10 school. What type of project work should I look for next? Strategy?

Hi fishes! Staring at an MBB soon! Understand this question has been raised before but I’d love to hear experiences people had with specific online courses for excel and PowerPoint and how relevant they turned out to be once you’ve started the job (eg Wall Street Prep / breaking into Wall Street has been brought up before but is it not “consulting” enough?) TIA!
Remote week this week. Fiancé thinks I have to travel but will surprise him by being home when he's done work! It's the little things.
I’ve got a 3 hour long callback interview via zoom coming up sometime in the next couple of weeks. How do I keep from becoming fidgety and zoning out?! Seriously worried
Why is everyone asking for recommendations on movies and shows to watch? Does everyone binge watch shows now due to WFH? Aren’t people doing actual work when WFH, or just watching movies?

Any copywriters here who have published novels? I'm set to finish my 4th rewrite by end of year and hopefully shop it around soon. If I manage to get it published, you think I could translate it into a raise somehow? Also, would love any general advice -- on querying, on finding beta readers, or craft books you'd recommend. Save the Cat is my plotting bible, and I also love Self-Editing for Fiction Writers. Any other recs?
Joined a new consulting company and the first project I am assigned is not that exciting. Should I quit or request to change a project?
Is this normally a more expensive time of the year to fly internationally? I’m trying to book tix they’re all coming in pretty high. Maybe Coronavirus influence, fewer flights = more demand?
For those who are mainly working on a flat fee basis, do you track your time and make the tasks completed reflect on the client’s bill? For example: one entry is Jan 21, I formed the company, Jan 25, I drafted the operating agreement... or does your bill to the client simply reflect LLC formation and the price charged?
New homeowners here, we are getting a new roof from insurance claim due to a recent storm. We received a check, but the roofer said that's not all and once he's done, he will send the insurance company a final invoice. Is that how it works?
What are good probable opportunities for TAS S&O-IT Manager with 10+ YOE? Can industry director level or higher FAANG (i.e. Amazon L7) is a realistic target or too much to bite?
I'm a platinum SPG member and the Sheraton won't give me 4pm late checkout which is fine but they won't even give me noon checkout. If I checkout at 12 instead of 11:30 will they charge me?
