I came back to PwC pregnant. I got 16 weeks paid, I think it's a little bit longer now.

Currently on mat leave. You get two weeks before your due date as short term disability (unless you have doctor approved/ required leave earlier). Once baby arrives you get four months paid maternity leave. You can then take an additional 3 weeks of vacation (as part of the “unlimited vacation” policy). You can then take unpaid leave (up to baby’s first year). I believe you must be with the firm for a year to qualify. However, I would assume this can be negotiated if needed.

This is just the policy. You definitely aren’t capped and are allowed to take additional PTO within the child’s first year. I believe under the unlimited structure the unwritten rule is that you get 4-6 weeks/ calendar year. So, I would be able to take an additional 3 weeks before the end of December if I wanted to.

like

Keep in mind that it will also vary by state even at the same firm. For example, at pwc in California, you get 4 weeks off leading up to the due date but most other states only get 2 weeks off leading up to the due date.

Me too! Last day Friday - baby on Sunday!

Last time I checked EY was 2 weeks before due date (use it or lose it), total of 4 months maternity, you used to be able to use your PTO afterwards to extend it (not sure how it works now that I think about it since we have unlimited) and then you could get approval to extend it longer as unpaid. One year before it comes into effect.

like

Month before( if you don’t use don’t get after), 6 more weeks disability (can be extended by insurance company if dr agrees), 6 weeks paid by the firm

I feel like there was a thread with all the firms but Deloitte and PWC are both 16 weeks. Pwc is 14 weeks fully paid and 2 weeks at 60% but then you can use 4 weeks vacation if you have it. You can use the 6 weeks of vacation at Deloitte I think.

I’m on leave now. Deloitte’s is a combination of STD and family leave. All paid. Depends on how you give birth but approx 24 weeks total. No restrictions about what to take before or after. Accrued PTO can be used before/after too. Not sure about how long you have to be at the firm before it kicks in, though, since I’ve been here a while.

I'm grounded cause my husband traveled. Under a new order, returning travelers must quarantine 10 days and they should isolate from others in the household, even wear masks at home. Husband is about to return from a work trip, & he's not on board. So to stay "clean" and able to go out myself, I plan to sleep in my home office for HIS quarantine, with my air purifier on, and mask up if we are in the same room. Ridiculously inconvenient, but I do not feel it's ethical to risk infecting others.
