As a MBA aspirant I think management folks tend to work above the age of 50-55 too. (Tier 1 / 2 ) . The salary will be very high at that time too. Technology people will hit ceiling by 40-45 ( not including product people) as the crowd is huge there only few becomes VP / CTO others continue to be architect and salary would be stagnant. So MBA would be VP, director, MD, CEO, CXO etc..... I have seen some are working as a board member even after retirement age. This is present situation in future I don't this changes or not... Do you agree? About the retirement of tech and management. Correct me if I am wrong too.
It is a personal preference really ! I have seen people in India working well beyond 60 65. Outside India, in the USA, I have worked with folks who have work experience of 40+ years and they're still going strong ! So, there's no one size fits all. Just recently, we are seeing the trend of people wanting to retire early and "hustle" all day, nothing wrong with that too... But having a balanced, long (in years) career is what many still prefer.. it's not a race - how soon can you retire ? What next ? Why not try and strike a balance and work and also take out time to enjoy your life. It is unpredictable, after all...
Just my thoughts and observations.
