My goal with real money is 55

Travel, investing, and philanthropy are the elements that make up my definition of retirement.

Fantasy - now. Reality - 50.

I wouldn't. I'd get bored. Dad was forcibly retired for health reasons at 69 and he's bored to tears. I'll always do some type of work. I'm working now to "retire" from consulting to get back to volunteering with nonprofits

Less than a year before I can retire and not sure I can make it. The stress at home, work and with the aches and pains of my 54 year old body are taking their toll. I wake up every weekday and dread the coming 14 hour day. I live for the bliss of two days off on the weekend when I can attempt to just ignore everything until Monday morning.

What’s the magic number to retire in style in NYC?

Start tomorrow but I don’t get a match for 401k until 2nd year. Living at home and wanted to pay off my loans. Is it ok if I just do loans, max out IRA, and have an emergency savings? Projected CONTD

I am two years out from my end of enlistment. Is there anything I should be doing now that you wish you had done at this point?

Side details: Family of 4, own a home, no consumer debt other than my home, I am a few classes shy of my MBA (still actively pursuing and will have it by the time I get out), I live near an area with a ton of corporate offices and headquarters.

Thanks for your time and feedback!

Something I used to do with my father before he died was fixing his home garden. Thanks to that now whenever I get a new property to sell I dedicate myself to fixing the garden before showing it, I learned to do it very fast and very aesthetically. Have you ever fixed houses by yourself to improve sales?

Is it really bad if you renege an offer after you've received some of the relocation reimbursement, if you just don't pay them back, are you technically reliable? The offer is at will right.
