Strategy Consultant - Currently making $175 base as a 3yr Sr. Mngr. Very happy w my current firm, however I’v had multiple recruiters reach out w/ 200+ base roles. Any advice on how to negotiate a raise at the current firm without burning any bridges? Do I need to have a counter offer in my back pocket?

I feel like the Senior manager has to redo all (or a lot) of my work. I’ll suggest something, they’ll modify or reject it and then make a decision. Then I’ll execute on that decision and I didn’t have the best idea and it’ll be tweaked again or something comes up and the approach didn’t actually work based on th support. I’m an A2 up for promotion so I should be performing like a new senior, but I feel like it’s clear that I’m not close. For more context, it’s a first year audit so maybe that...

Because of my hire date last year I wasn’t reviewed in last summer’s annual review cycle. My firm cut everyone’s salary by 25% in March and made major layoffs and more are coming. The firm made it clear that during this summer’s review they will not discuss salary. Any advice for how to have the conversation in the near future about a raise? I work exclusively with nonprofits and my current salary is not sustainable. Are consulting firms that deal with for profits also suffering like this?

Currently an OCM Associate with 2.5 YOE in consulting & 1 YOE experience in sales and going up for promotion to SA in May/June. Anybody with 3 YOE+ switch from Core tax to their international group? How was the transition? Did you have to step down a level if you were a recent senior/manager? Did you have to switch firms? Reason I ask is that I wouldn't mind delaying my promotion to manager to get international experience. Want to experience international before jumping from PA.

What r the chances of a person who’s only had in-house experience for 7-8 yrs to lateral into Biglaw? I have had pretty rich experience for in-house (leading internal investigations, directly reporting to management on risks/legal issues, etc.). I recently moved to NYC (my company’s headquarters) but would love to go into Biglaw. Promotion seems to be an uphill battle at my company unless u r from Biglaw. How to start networking and get my foot in the Biglaw door?
