Hi All,
Need suggestions here. Please help me out. I was interviewed with IBM and got selected. Waiting for offer letter. Meanwhile got selected in another company and got offer too. Put down my ppr. Offer from another company is way beyond than IBM almost 22% more in terms of fixed. Now I’m confused that once IBM releases their offer then should I ask them to match with my holding or not ? Will they consider for negotiations? What’s your thoughts? IBM

Once you’ve accepted the offer.
Only after they’ve offered you the position, showing their interest in you, and you’ve accepted, showing your interest in them, and you’ve begun work and are now discussing the detail logistics of everything should it be brought up. Thus, if they fire you or withdraw the offer at that point, you have cause to reach out to your local attorney, EEOC, etc. for further discussion.

Well if I’m negotiating 100% remote vs relocating, is that not something I would use to discuss. I’d imagine it’s no different than moving your whole family for a role
Here’s the thing. If it’s possible for you to fully fulfill the job position requirements from home, and you have the credentials to do so, and the company likes you, that should be sufficient. The job can get done. They can deal with their legal requirements after they’ve brought you, the ideal candidate, on.
If you don't want them to discriminate against you, why would you tell them at all? Is there some reason they need to know?
Trick question: you don't. If you're going to use it to negotiate for a higher salary (Hey, no judgments), mention it when you get an offer.
Otherwise, there's really no merit mentioning it during the hiring process.
