At what point would you suggest working with a financial manager to set up your investment goals & make sure you’re on the right track for early retirement? At a certain age? After you have a certain amount of $$?

(I already handle my own investments but I don’t know if it’s time to get professional eyes at my portfolio & discuss my goals)

37 with $3M NW. I handle it all, have spoken with financial advisors but they haven’t given me any insight I didn’t already know.

Tax advisors have some interesting info, and I’m sure if I found a good one they’d generate more value for me

Look at apps like personal capital - they do a good job providing you with a view to manage your own finances instead of paying someone

None for the most part.

Setting up a lazy portfolio of low cost index funds (that's properly allocated), consistently investing, and using apps/excel to closely tracks spending to achieve saving goals should be enough.

If I was very wealthy (at least $30+ million NW, I would probably put together a trustworthy team of advisors to help guide me.

I think it's always good to know a tax professional that can help around unique circumstances because depending on your asset mix, things can get more complex if you get up there in NW and really more active in investing between stocks, crypto, and real estate activities (i.e. accounting for staking income in crypto and tracking basis, sec 1031 exchanges for real estate, various types of stocks sales, etc).

Just ran the numbers and it seems like undergrad and grad school costs will be through the roof when my kids go to school in 15 years. What would you do?
