Hey! My company is giving me a new title (previously: Senior PMM, new: Global Lead of product marketing). The roles are very similar with no material change of responsibilities. it’s the result of a re-org. Also, I’ve been deemed a high performer and approaching my 1 yr review.

In any case, as I’m waiting on the official letter, they have been very vague that they’re will be a compensation increase. In fact, this hasn’t been presented as a promotion. How would you approach this conversation?

What are your WFH schedules like as moms with small kids (under 5) ? bonus points for multiples! I need ideas. Hubby is Military and works 3shift so he sleeps during the day and can’t be much help.

I took my first day off in 2 years to take my son to the beach. A partner forced me to work all Father's day on a truly unnecessary project due to his own neuroses. My firm has started sending our law student law clerk to me for assignments and to help me with my assignments and such. I’ve never had this before, so I never know what to give the law clerk to do. Part of this is not wanting to give up the billables; part is not knowing what to give; and part is I’m the type that hates delegating my work because if I want it done right I’ll do it myself lol. Any tips on how to know what to delegate out to law clerks?

On a bit of a time crunch here - client is a foreign portfolio investor looking to buy loans from an asset restructuring company (ARCs). I’ve been assigned the financial indebtedness chapter of a DD, I have copies of the term loans (facility agreements, guarantees, hypothecation deeds) and the agreements with the ARCs. Just out of law school trying to figure out what I should be looking for to highlight in an issues only DD report due in less than 5 hours? HELP!

2nd year assoc. here. Finding myself spending 3-5 hours researching/analyzing issues that should only take 1-3 hours. I find myself questioning - for every assignment - is this the issue I was asked to look into? Did I read that case right? Does this analysis make sense? And I end up reading the same cases over and over. Does anyone have advice for being more confident/efficient on tasks, especially research?

I do civil litigation and I constantly have that “it’s finals week/month” feeling with constant impending doom every which way I look, and I find it hard to escape from that even when I’m on “vacation.” My only hobbies are the gym, and cars, and I don’t even really make enough money to support the latter. Sometimes I feel like I need that shrink from Office Space to hypnotize me out of my misery

How do you answer the “why are you leaving your current firm/why do you want to make the move” while making the lateral move? I love the work i do but the partners are completely disorganized and it will and has already affected my morale, anxiety, and professional development. Obviously i cannot tell my interviewee all of that, so what should i say?
