I won't lie - there is some ego massage. Prestige manifests when you meet someone new and they give you the "impressive!" eye brow raise when they find out where you work.
It's pathetic, I know, but it's nice to be proud of where you work.
In my mind, I read your post in Patrick Bateman’s (American Psycho) voice.

I made a switch from B4 to BCG, and I find a huge difference. Not sure if it will apply to you to the same extent from Kearney. More resources, more growth, more rigor, more attention to your needs and preferences
The biggest difference for me is the ability to choose what you want to do. So many more paths and staffing options that allow you to decide exactly what platform you want to build. Felt more at the whim of the system at Kearney. I agree with other benefits mentioned above, especially availability of resources to do job well and level of relationships between partners and clients
Can you expand on that last point on the relationship between partners and clients?

The network / people. I look around my peers and know that a ton of them are going to do crazy cool things some day. Huge opportunity to get pulled into stuff down the road.
Haven’t worked in B4, but there’s a general feeling of being taken care of (especially pre-COVID). Getting first class pretty much everywhere, having no explicit food / drink budgets, etc.
BCG 2 that is business class. No-one at BCG flies first (and several planes don’t have it anymore).
Was in your exact situation a few months and I turned down a second round from Bain. All in all my reasoning to stay was I didn’t want to go down a level + have a super strong senior network internally that would be a pain to develop again. That being said no one will fault ya for leaving
Yup I'm here w you. MBB where I am at are ok with me coming in at same level, which is why I'm more enticed, but, leaving behind a network is a consideration
I am curious if MBB has less bullsh1t firm programs/requirements like digital badges, well-being points/challenges, soooo many reports and internal red tape...being inundated with endless firm emails on whatever the next campaign/program/org/shiny dumb new thing .... it's sensory overload over here and I can't get any actual work done 😂
Sounds like a dream
