Eat healthy, and watch portion control. Healthy = lots of non-starchy vegetables, fruit, whole grains, legumes, lean protein. Watch portions of pasta, rice, cereal, potatoes. Drink lots of water, have 2-3 servings of nonfat or low fat dairy per day (yogurt, skim milk, almond milk). Avoid soda, even diet soda, and limit processed foods. Exercise helps, but main thing is portion control and healthy choices.

All diets work by creating a calorie deficit. Get the under armor myfitneespal app (free) and honestly log everything. Then you can make trade offs better. E.g. I love Italian sandwiches and I like Turkey but knowing it's 20-40% more calories I now love turkey. That being said, if your BMI is high enough and you can't fight cravings, Phentermine is actually a magic drug...suppresses appetite, gives energy and increases focus...downsides - does raise blood pressure (offset by weight loss if you do it right) and can only be taken 3-6 months before you acclimate to it

I always try to find a Whole Foods style grocery store near the client and do a lot of my meals from their prepared section. Makes it a little easier to get real, nutritious food

Eat to fuel your body, not to shovel tasty stuff down your gullet. P1 is absolutely right, be mindful of what you eat and how much and you'll get there if you stick to it

Haha

No magic pill. Don't half ass it or you will get half assed results. Eat healthy, slay yourself in the gym (resistance and cardio), rest, and time 💪🏼

thanks for the insights my fellow fishbowlers

It's the alcohol fam. Gets me every time.

Meal prep, way cheaper and more healthier

I agree but it's so freaking hard when you have to do team dinner couple times a week!!

Keto diet works magic. 20 lbs in 3 months, eating well. Had to cut back on beer, but still can have the occasional whiskey.

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

Anyone know of job opportunities for a UK qualified solicitor (corporate law) in Germany? Doesn't necessarily have to be legal counsel, open to other roles, preferably not a big corporate firm (mental health reasons). S.O. and I are moving to Germany, both are allowed to work there due to EU nationality so visa is not an issue. Unfortunately not great German language skills (fully aware this poses a problem). Would really appreciate any help on this, TIA.

Got in a car accident and havent been sure how to deal with getting care. I use the VA and they paid for my ER visit, some medication, and a primary visit. I need to see a chiropractor but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do since that's the only insurance I use and they take months to get any appointments in presently. It was the other drivers fault but I have to come out of pocket until care is completed then haggle w/ em. Do I wait on the VA? Just pay cash to someone local? Recs?

I applied for two positions at a district court that say ‘open until filled’. I’m going on a cruise in a few weeks and don’t want to miss hearing from HR. The posting says due to the high number of applicants do not follow up, you will be contacted if chosen for an interview. Saw a beautiful woman at the grocery store this morning. Most people were either dressed for church or were wearing their hungover clothes (me). She came in like she just left LA Fitness. Sports Bra/Bikini top. SKIN. Matching yoga pants. I am old, out of shape, and felt completely alive when I saw her. Good for her. She has it. She should flaunt it. For the record, I am in my 50s and happily married to a beautiful woman. That doesn’t mean I don’t notice other women (discreetly).

I fucking hate the expectation that "men must provide" or "women must act a certain way". That's damaging to a lot of relationships. I love division of labor and working with each other's strengths and weaknesses without so much emphasis on gender roles. I'm a big supporter of utilitarian relationship that strives for the good of the partnership and each party.
