Did anyone ever go from MBB to Big4? Why?
McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hi folks. Looking to break into consulting. Have 5 years of experience across financial institutions in the US, Pakistan and Canada. I have previously interviewed at BCG in Chicago and even though I didn’t clear final round, I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Finally in a position to be able to consider this again. Would any of the MBB / Big 4folks be willing to chat/refer me? 🙏🙏🙏 McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group KPMG Deloitte PwC EY

Definately try out some strategy projects before going to MBB itll set you up for success and gives you a sense of what key skills you should build upon. In your interviews you can talk about your strat exp and it can only make you have a stronger case! I went from IT Audit > PM consulting > strategy consulting happy to chat
Definately excel modeling skills hold star if you know python/ sql. Storyboarding on PPT, knowing how communicate to high level execs
You’ll learn most of it on the job so wouldn’t try to over prepare. Could be smart to try out to make sure that’s actually what you want to do
Congrats on M7!

It shouldn’t impact your chances but may be good just to understand what the job is like. An impactful thing you can do however is write down what you’ve worked on so you can translate it into good STAR stories/behaviorals. You’d be surprised about how much you forget once you start biz school
